Our History

Hamilton-Burke Dufau partnership was first created in 1991 when Ian Hamilton-Burke and Odette Dufau decided to leave their national practice and set up as an independent firm of Chartered Accountants.

As the practice grew in size it was necessary to relocate to its eventual home at Gladstone House. The easily accessible location and on-site parking were an instant hit with both staff and clients alike and the firm has been here ever since.

In December 2009, the existing management team of Hamilton-Burke Dufau - Alison Beasley, Susan Buckley, Hazel Macey and Benjamin Russell - took over the reins and set up HBD Accountancy Services LLP. At this time Ian took the opportunity for a well deserved retirement after nearly 50 years working in the profession.

After succesfully assisting the firm through the intital transition, Alison Beasley retired from the practice in December 2011 to return to education in the form of a Business Manager for a local school.

In 2016, Hazel Macey took the opportunity to wind down, and has stepped back from her role as partner. She is still looking after her portfolio of clients but no operates on a part time basis.
